Lil Wayne Has A New Plan To Get His Unpaid Royalties From Cash Money Records

Lil Wayne is going through the motions to completely break his Young Money brand away from Birdman’s Cash Money Records. While he’s in the process of pursuing a major lawsuit against Birdman, Wayne is making sure that he finally gets what he’s owed from his former imprint. Find out which well-known collection company will be set on helping Weezy after the jump.

Lil Wayne recently signed to Kobalt, a royalty collections company, who will help him collect what he’s owed from his former label Cash Money Records. They will see that Wayne promptly receives all unpaid royalties and record advances from Birdman. According to their website, their “powerful tracking system” helps guarantee that all income is accounted for.
“Kobalt’s powerful tracking system compares collection against detailed in-house expectations to ensure all income is correctly accounted. Kobalt develops these detailed expectations from 3rd party performance data, Territory expectations from Kobalt’s pre-distribution health check, as well as from the client’s income data. Combining these three data sources allows us to monitor collection and ensures all income is received.”
Kobalt has handled the affairs of exclusive clients like Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi, Noah “40” Shebib, and DJ Premier. Along with Weezy, Kobalt recently recruited Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith and Calvin Harris. After filing a lawsuit against Birdman in 2014, Wayne has dismissed the case after reaching a truce, according to sources. Wayne’s getting closer to completely breaking away from Birdman’s imprint for good.

"Looks like Weezy is going full steam ahead with severing ties from Birdman and the Cash Money imprint in as well as getting everything owed to him in the process. Earlier this year, Weezy dismissed a lawsuit against his former pa, only to still be demanding is payment in full, and if we recall correctly that is a whopping settlement fee of $51M. Well according to reports, Weezy has enlisted the help of highly reputable collection company, Kobalt who has worked with clients such  Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi, and more more recently superstars like Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Calvin Harris, along with many others on their roster. Sounds like Weezy inteneds to get his money "by any means neccessary." Shrugs, can we blame him."
